Grand Lake St. Marys State Park to Get New $2.5M Facility

A new $2.54 million mixed-use building will be built at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park to replace two old and deteriorating structures that no longer meet operational or visitor needs.

Key details:

  • The current camp store and park office are outdated, cramped, and in disrepair, prompting long-standing requests for improvements from park leadership

  • Funding was approved by the Ohio Controlling Board from a state parks facilities fund, with Charles Construction Services of Findlay selected as the contractor

  • The project includes a larger combined space with offices, retail space, reception areas, storage, and outdoor seating, designed to better support staff and visitors

  • A pre-construction meeting is set for January, with groundbreaking expected in March and completion projected for April 2027

  • Once the new building opens, the existing facilities will be torn down and the sites restored
