LIA Launches New Microcystin Levels Page

08/03/2022

The Lake Improvement Association often receives inquiries about Grand Lake St. Marys water quality. In an effort to keep the public informed, we’ve launched a new page that displays current and historical microcystin levels in Grand Lake St. Marys.

The page features a graphic that compares current and historical averages, courtesy of Wright State University-Lake Campus Biology Professor Dr. Stephen Jacquemin.

As the graphic depicts, microcystin levels are trending significantly lower than the historical average.

Our aim is to update the page with the most recent readings approximately twice each month.

This new resource also lists answers to frequently asked questions about safe microcystin levels and where to find additional information.
