ODNR Division of Wildlife recently honored Mercer County Ag and Natural Resources Director Theresa Dirksen with the Wildlife Award for her efforts in wetland projects around Grand Lake.
Division of Wildlife Wetlands Habitat Coordinator Dave Sherman presented Theresa with the award at the March 2025 Lake Improvement Association meeting.
“The collaborator is responsible for overseeing on-the-ground activities, hiring contractors, making sure they’re doing the work, paying the bills, and sending out requests for qualifications,” Sherman said. “If I had other collaborators like her, I could just sit around and watch ‘Judge Judy’ all day, because I wouldn’t have anything to do. She is a rock star.”
